Innovating Technology WITH PURPOSE
C&J IS DRIVEN BY A SPIRIT OF INNOVATION AND DISCOVERY, GUIDED BY INTEGRITY AND HARD WORK.
Innovation drives higher margins, particularly if those advancements address important industry challenges and can be brought to market in a timely manner. At C&J, our research and technology initiatives are guided by market needs and highly focused on improving safety, efficiency and profitability for our customers.
Our Houston-based Research & Technology Center has become an incubator for innovation, supporting an ever-expanding portfolio of solutions for the energy industry. This 95,000-square-foot facility includes an electrical lab, an HPHT testing vessel, a flow-loop test facility and a high-volume, multipurpose manufacturing area.
One of many recent advancements is the Hibernate™ warm-start system, which enables us to turn off frac engines between stages. It has helped us to reduce costs, equipment wear, fuel consumption, NPT and maintenance requirements. Importantly, it improves both environmental impact and safety.
C&J’s Tru-Mill™ molded-composite frac plugs feature compression-molded mandrels that provide faster drillout and create finely pulverized particles to enable better flowback.
Our rotary ball dispenser system, which attaches to a RigLock® wellhead connection, enables operators — positioned up to 150 feet away from the wellhead — to remotely drop frac balls, thus lessening the risk of working near high-pressure equipment.
Proprietary controls from Mobile Data Technologies (MDT) provide advanced data acquisition and precise equipment control to enhance operational efficiency for fracturing, coiled tubing and other crucial wellsite applications. Cloud-accessible job data delivers near-real-time access to comprehensive performance metrics. Putting the right information in the right hands enables better, safer decisions.
