To mark the grand opening of the new C&J Energy Services Casedhole Solutions facility in Giddings, Texas, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tour and community open house will be held December 15, 2015. Scheduled attendees include area business leaders, state and local officials, C&J executives and community members. The street address for all events is 1105 CR 235; Giddings, TX 78942.
The facility is expected to employ 80 workers from Lee County and surrounding areas, with the capacity to increase to 130 based on demand. The buildings were constructed on the eight-acre site at a cost of roughly $2.8 million, and will serve as a regional office and maintenance hub for pumping and acid services. Onsite capabilities include a bulk acid plant, as well as lab support for acid and stimulation services.
“Despite the overall industry downturn, overall demand for our pumpdown services has been relatively consistent and we have even experienced some growth in selected markets,” said Ed Keppler, President, Drilling & Completion Services for C&J. He continued, “We also wanted to position our acidizing capabilities to serve regional demand. This facility is well-situated for customers in the Austin Chalk and the Barnett, Eaglebine and Eagle Ford shale plays. It was the leadership and vision of Chris Williams, our Vice President of Operations, Pumping, and the support of our Casedhole Solutions division that helped bring this project to fruition. We thank Giddings for their warm welcome and look forward to being an active member of the community and a contributor to the area’s economy.”
The day’s activities will commence at 10 a.m. with a series of speakers that will include Lee County Judge Paul E. Fischer. Tours of the new buildings and equipment will be followed by lunch. The event will conclude by 1 p.m.
