Location: Various locations throughout Alberta

Job Summary: Working above the rig floor on the tubing board, this position is responsible to guide lengths of tubing, instruments and tools in and out of the well, and steady items that other crew members are connecting or disconnecting. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining all equipment related to the circulating system. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for guiding pipe in and out of the well from the tubing board
  • Assist in moving the rig, rigging up and rigging out, including inspecting the derrick before it is raised or lowered
  • Responsible for driving rig equipment during rig move
  • Watch and maintain proper fluid characteristics and rate of fluid circulation in pump
  • Assist with training/mentoring new and/or junior crew members
  • Assist Driller as needed on the rig floor
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance is performed on equipment as outlined in maintenance manual
  • Learn and adhere to all company and Government safety regulations pertaining to the worksite
  • Participate in safety initiatives

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months experience in Derrickhand position
  • 1-2 years previous experience in Floorhand position preferred
  • CAODC Derrickhand competency preferred
  • Certifications required: H2S Alive, Standard 1st Aid with CPR, CAODC Convoy certificate, Fall Protection/Rig Rescue
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Valid Drivers’ License (minimum Class 5 without restrictions)
  • Must be physically fit to handle heavy lifting (required to successfully pass a pre-employment physical assessment)
  • Able to work at heights to a maximum of 112 feet
  • Able to react to change and take direction
  • Able to work in a team environment, effectively communicating with all crew members
  • Able to cope with stressful situations and react accordingly
  • Safety conscious
  • Mechanically inclined with good practical skills
  • Prepared to work away from home
  • Able to work in all types of outdoor elements (extreme cold, rain, hot weather, etc.)

Location:  Various Locations throughout Alberta 
Job Summary: The Floorhand is the starting position on a service rig. During the tripping in/tripping out process, the Floorhand is responsible for making and breaking the connections to the pipe. The Floorhand is also responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the rig floor and assisting the Derrickhand and Driller when needed. 

Position Responsibilities: 

Make/break connections to the pipe while on the rig floor
Assist with moving pipe to/from the rig floor
Assist Derrickhand and Driller as needed on the rig floor
Ensure that the rig floor is clean
Assist in moving the rig, rigging up and rigging out.
Responsible for driving crew truck during rig move
Ensure all tools and equipment are put away in the proper place
Ensure that preventative maintenance is performed on equipment as outlined in maintenance manual
Learn and adhere to all company and Government safety regulations pertaining to the worksite
Participate in safety initiatives

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months experience in Floorhand position
  • CAODC Floorhand competency preferred

Job Summary:  The Swab Assistant is the entry level position on a swab rig.  The Assistant is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the rig floor and assisting the Operator with the daily operations. 
Position Responsibilities: 

  • Assist Operator with daily rig operations as directed
  • Assist in moving the rig, rigging up and rigging out
  • Ensure that the rig floor is clean
  • Responsible for driving crew truck during rig move
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are put away in the proper place
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance is performed on equipment as outlined in maintenance manual
  • Learn and adhere to all company and Government safety regulations pertaining to the worksite
  • Participate in safety initiatives
  • Required to be on-call and readily available for work

  • 1-2 years previous labor experience
  • Basic understanding of swab rigs and/or well services industry
  • Certifications Required: H2S Alive, Standard 1st Aid with CPR
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Valid Drivers’ License (minimum Class 5 without restrictions)
  • Must be physically fit to handle heavy lifting (required to successfully pass a pre-employment physical assessment)
  • Able to react to change and take direction

Location:  Brooks 
Job Summary:  The Operator is in control of operating the swab rig and is responsible for managing the rig floor and control panel.  The Operator is responsible for ensuring that the crew performs its job safely and efficiently, and within the regulatory requirements of the industry. 
Position Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for monitoring the progress of the rig operation, determine when equipment or parts need changing
  • Coordinate work of the Assistant(s) to ensure operations run smoothly and safely
  • Organize the rig up and rig out of the unit
  • Establish operating procedures for equipment and implement preventative maintenance program
  • Responsible for management and development of Assistant(s)
  • Learn and adhere to all company safety policies, procedures and practices as well as all government safety regulations.
  • Responsible for the safety of themselves and their crew and ensure that they have proper training for the task
  • Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Ensures the crew is thoroughly trained in their roles and responsibilities and that their performance consistently meets all safety regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring the crew gets to and from the work site in a safe manner
  • Ensures all appropriate paperwork is completed and maintained.
  • Participate in safety initiatives
  • Required to be on-call and readily available for work

Job Requirements:

  • 5-7 years previous swab rig experience with at least 1-2 years in an Operator position
  • Certifications Required: H2S Alive, Standard 1st Aid with CPR
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Valid Drivers’ License (minimum Class 3 without restrictions)
  • Capable of managing a crew and ensuring operations are completed as per Company policy
  • Must be physically fit to handle heavy lifting (required to successfully pass a pre-employment physical assessment)
  • Able to react to change and handle essential tasks as required
  • Able to work in a team environment, effectively communicating with all crew members
  • Able to cope with stressful situations and react accordingly
  • Safety conscious

Job Summary:  The Swab Tank Truck Operator assists the Swab Operator and Swab Assistant. The Swab Tank Truck Driver is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the Tank Truck and rig floor while assisting the Operator with the daily operations. 
Position Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the tank truck
  • Assist Operator with daily operations
  • Assist Operator-Assistant with maintenance of equipment and general housekeeping as needed
  • Responsible for spotting the tank truck on location and assisting rig move, rigging up and rigging out
  • Ensure preventative maintenance is performed on equipment as outlined in maintenance manual
  • Ensure tools are cleaned and placed in proper location
  • Learn and adhere to all company and Government safety regulations pertaining to the worksite
  • Participate in safety initiatives
  • Required to be on-call and readily available for work

Job Requirements:

  • 1-2 years previous tank truck driving experience
  •  Experience with swab rigs and/or well services industry an asset
  • Certifications Required: H2S Alive, Standard 1st Aid with CPR,
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Valid Drivers’ License (minimum Class 3 without restrictions)
  • Must be physically fit to handle heavy lifting (required to successfully pass a pre-employment physical assessment)
  • Able to react to change and take direction
  • Able to work in a team environment, effectively communicating with all crew members
